Stucco Finish

Stucco is a versatile facing material that is applied to flat or curved surfaces either inside or outside any building or structure. Stucco has great appeal as a surface finish because of its utility, low first cost, and minimum need for maintenance.

In its hardened state, plaster is a desirable facing material. It is hard, strong, fire-resistant, and color-retentive. Plaster is also breathable, so water that gets behind it does not become trapped, which makes it resistant to rot and fungus. Plaster has proved to be a durable wall cover in all climates,  whether wet, dry, hot, or cold. The final appearance of the finish coat varies by changing the size and shape of the aggregate, using colored cement, adding pigments, changing the consistency of the finish mix, the method, or equipment used for plastering, and the plasterer’s skill in manipulating the finish coat.

Exterior Insulation Finish Systems

Exterior insulation finish systems (EIFS), sometimes called synthetic stucco, are a multi-layered wall system consisting of insulation board, a base coat, reinforcing mesh, and an acrylic finish coat. There are several system variations and most incorporate some type of water management and drainage for even better protection.

EIFS has superior energy efficiency, design flexibility, color range, and it is lightweight. Studies have shown EIFS reduces air infiltration in a wall by as much as 55% when compared to standard brick or wood construction.

Plaster Systems & Specialty Framing

Add a beautiful finish to your walls, such as Venetian plaster, with plaster systems from Angel Brothers Plastering Inc. Gypsum plaster provides effective acoustic and fire resistance, and is suitable for all interior plastering, except where directly exposed to wet conditions. Exterior and specialty framing, as well as other specialty finishes, are available for your home or business.

Conventional Lath & Plaster Systems

Conventional lath and plaster systems have been the industry standard for wall construction for many years. It begins with a scratch coat, made up of gypsum plaster and sand, over some type of base. This base is metal lath or gypsum board, which is similar to drywall, though with different paper.

Once the scratch coat has cured, our plastering contractors apply a brown coat, which consists of gypsum and sand. The brown coat is applied in 1 or 2 coats to get the desired thickness. The finish coat is applied last and is between 1/16″ to 1/8″; and it normally consists of lime and a catalyst to help it set.

Veneer Plaster

Veneer plaster consists of a thin base and finish coat, 1/8″ to 3/16” total, which is applied over a gypsum base called blue board. Blue board is similar to drywall, but has a special paper that ensures a proper bond with plaster. Veneer systems help eliminate nail-pupppops and ripples often seen in drywall applications, and they have slightly better acoustic values.

Decorative Plaster Molds

Even the most intricate designs and details can be achieved to enhance the interior beauty of your home, office or commercial facility. These techniques are accomplished with our highly trained and talented artisans, and with the combination of unique molds and plaster.

The finished product is custom created to the desired style of the client. The most common requested styles have been geometric, which consist of finials, decorative cornices, bows, etc., and organic, which consist of leaves, trees, and floral treatments.

Exterior & Specialty Framing

At our company, we work with light gauge metal framing, as well as all types of exterior light gauge framing. This includes specialty groin vaults, barrel, dome, coffer, and tray ceilings.
